Pashley..

I have wanted a Pashley bike for a very, very long time, but after they brought out their special edition in red I want one more than ever... Please, please, pretty please?? After having bought a car and knowing that I never ride a bike in London (too scary!) I simply can't justify the cost, but I'm constantly dreaming of this bike.. Taking it on long summer rides, with a picnic basket and a bottle of sparkling rosé and good friends.. Ah...

Finally Friday!

Finally weekend! It will be a busy one, with lots of friends and dinner parties, which is just what I like of a weekend. The skirt I'm wearing today is really big and swings so nicely when I walk. And the shoes always make me happy! Also hoping to have some time to sit in the garden and read this weekend, just relax and feel good about the holidays. Wish you all a happy weekend!

More polkadots!

This is a project I spent yesterday doing. I made my own pattern, which always means I have to redo it a few times. But how do we otherwise learn? I love trying to figure out things for myself, rather than following a recipe.

I love love love this photo! A couple out on a cycling picnic..

Weekend photos

Pionies
One big and one small cocos bolle. Yum!! I could easily eat a whole box of these...
Water melon!
Strawberries and cream for dessert

Happy Sunday!

Things that make me happy on a weekend like this:

-buying peonies, and four people on the tube saying that they're really nice flowers.
-a little girl on the train platform opposite me waves to me and I wave back.
-when something funny or weird happens on the tube, and the people sitting around look at each other and smile knowingly, as if we share a secret..
-eating water melon for the first time this year.
-buying cheese and tomatoes in the local farmer's market from the lovely and friendly couple that get up at 5am every Sunday morning to drive all the way from the Isle of White to our little market!
-making ice lollies from orange juice
-a little girl walking past me carrying a balloon.
-drinking champagne and celebrating that I have finished four years of blood, sweat and many, many tears!

My type

One of the things I really love is going through attics and cupboards full of things waiting to have another life. Whenever we're in Scotland we find treasures to take back home with us, and this time one of them was an old typewriter. I love it! And I love the sound of it. I will write nice things on it. Little poems. And little notes to my fiancee, telling him I love him. Hurrah!

Happy Sunday

Things that make me happy today:

-I received a pretty package in the post yesterday, full of pretty, little things!
-We've bought a car, which makes life a lot easier
-The garden is full of pretty flowers
-I have bought more seeds to grow more vegetables in the garden
-I'm wearing a pretty dress
-It's very warm outside, even though it is not sunny
-I have lots of sewing projects developing in my head, and I can't wait to start them

With God on Our Side

How much further will the Israeli go before the someone has to start doing something about the situation in Palestine? Is it still guilt after the Holocaust that makes the whole world close their eyes to what they're doing? And doesn't anyone see the irony of the whole situation, with the Holocaust in mind? Why is everyone standing back and allowing them to continue the occupation of Gaza? Why aren't we boycotting their produce, and stop funding this outrageous war?

So many questions and no answers. I'm so angry I want to scream and cry and shake some sense into our politicians.

Bubbles

I'm in Scotland and I left my camera at home, so today the photos are from We Heart It.
These things inspire me today:
