Finally Friday!

I started the day with a nice breakfast, enjoying the light from the early morning sun. This weekend we are celebrating Burns' night, with haggis, whisky and good friends, and on Sunday we will take a nice long walk in the country and then have a pub lunch!

Hope you have nice plans for the weekend!

A very happy Friday to you all!

Flower fairies

I couldn't get a great photo of this, but I thought I'd show it anyway. I finally finished the Flower Fairy baby- quilt I have been working on for ages. It is the first proper quilt I have made and thankfully it is baby size, as I think it might have finished me off if it had been any bigger.... I think I might leave it a while before I try making another one. Don't get me wrong- I loved making it, and it was so nice to finally give it to the little girl I made it for!

Fighting

I've been fighting a really bad cold lately, feeling tired, headachy and bunged- up. I got some berries out of the freezer and made myself a super- smoothie, hoping it will do the trick. I keep my fingers crossed....

Frosty bliss

A lovely weekend finally came to an end, even though I kept wishing it wouldn't. Just a couple of days of complete relaxation, in the countryside and with good friends, is usually everything I need to reload my batteries. Great food, wine, a midnight walk in the frosty fog, followed by a beautiful sunny day, a long walk along the fields, past what I probably hereafter will refer to as my dream house, finally ending up in the pub, next to a roaring fire and having a proper roast Sunday lunch.

Hope you had wonderful weekends!

All things French

As you have seen from my 'Wall post' yesterday, I have a lot of French pictures on my wall. Lately, I have been longing for Paris, for coffee on street corners, steak haché, art nouveau, French accents and lovely wine. Here is another French display in my house; an old advert for Absinthe and two small boxes filled with sweet delights.
Oh, I long for Paris.

Frost

After a long time of rubbish warm weather we finally have frost again. I love frost. This is what the garden looked like this morning:

Wall post

I thought I would show you some of the pictures that hang on my walls. Here's a selection:

Our hallway, with pictures and hats.
An old film poster
Picture of Paris
A Doisneau poster
Homemade pin board with pictures
Another Doisneau poster
Art nouveau poster of Tosca
And, of course, the Belle and Boo prints that Husband gave me

Finally Friday!

It's finally Friday again, and I'm drinking my morning coffee from a lovely cup that I got from Husband for Christmas (from Pip Studios). The sun is shining and it's frosty outside, just the sort of winter morning I like. I'm working on an assignment that's due soon, so this weekend will be mainly filled with work. Tomorrow we're going down to Kent to see some friends for dinner, which will be lovely!

Hope you all have great plans for the weekend!

Edinburgh, baby

I had new mittens from the January sale.
We went to the Gallery of Modern Art.
Edinburgh was stormy and wet, but pretty.
I was wearing a favourite brooch.
We had coffee in the Gallery Café.

Then we went for lunch at the house of a very dear friend.
He has the best library I know. I want a library like this one day, with a step chair to reach the books at the top.
We sat around the fire, drank coffee (and whisky), ate cheese and talked all day until it was dark and dinner time, and then we went out in the very windy evening to eat in a restaurant nearby.

Scotland, I will be sad to leave you.
