Oh happy day

I got this beautiful package in the mail today, and it really made my day! It's from tinytasty on Etsy. I believe they also have a shop at Epla.no if you live in Norway. Have a look at what I got:

Beautiful little box
All nicely wrapped up..
Waffle earrings! Aren't they the cutest things you've seen? I love them! Almost as much as I love waffles.... Mmmmmmmm...
These earrings and the necklace below really reminded me of Alice in Wonderland. Aren't they lovely? Now I can feel like Alice every day.

I am ready for a tea party any time!

Lost Things

I found this video and thought I'd share it. It's beautiful!

Mmmmmmeatballs

Last night I made one of our favourite meals; Jamie Oliver's spicy meatballs. And I'll share the recipe with you! They're fantastic. This recipe serves 4-6 people, but they are divine, so don't underestimate the portions! I think my fiancee and I could happily eat this portion just the two of us...

Tomato sauce

olive oil
2-3 clover of garlic, peeled and chopped
a bunch of fresh basil, leaves picked and stalks chopped (the leaves are later)
1 fresh red chilli, pierced with the tip of a knife app. 10 times
2 x tins of plum tomatoes
a good swig of red wine vinegar (or some old red wine)
sea salt and pepper

Heat the pan with some olive oil. Gently fry the garlic, basil stalks and the whole chilli. Then add tomatoes and red wine vinegar. Add salt and pepper and simmer for app. half an hour.

Meatballs

450 g minced beef
1-2 dried chillies, crumbled
a pinch of ground cinnamon
a pinch of ground nutmeg
3 cloves of garlic, peeled and chopped
sea salt and pepper
1 large egg
a handful of freshly grated Parmesan (plus a little extra for serving later)
zest of 1 lemon

Make all the ingredients into a nice dough. Shape into small meatballs using a spoon and your hands. Fry them in a pan until they have a nice brown colour and then add them to your tomato sauce. Remember to remove the chilli from the sauce!
Put the pasta on.

When the pasta is done, drain it and put it back in the pan. Add the sauce with the meatballs. Then add a knob of butter, some Parmesan and tear some of the basil leaves over it. Toss it all around. Done! Put some Parmesan and the basil leaves on the table for people to help themselves. Enjoy! Preferably with a glass of nice wine...

Damien Rice- O
Joni Mitchell- Blue
Bob Dylan- Blonde on blonde
Jens Lekman- Night falls over Kortedala
Miles Davies- Kind of blue
Erykah Badu- Baduizm
Marvin Gaye- What's going on?
Radiohead- OK Computer

Outfit of the day

Today is the perfect day to put on one of my summer dresses! I love this one, it has lovely, puffed short sleeves and the pattern makes me smile! I also love these cute socks..

Love this pattern!

Other things that make me smile today:

These pretty bows that I made last night, which can be worn in my hair, on one of my bags or on my clothes!

- waking up really early to the sound of rain. I love the sound of rain!
- then getting up and the sun is shining!
- a bottle of sparkling rosé is waiting in the fridge to be drunk later.
- we're having the best spicy meatballs for dinner..
- listening to the birds in the garden.
- the colour of my dress.
- thinking about my wedding and looking through bridal magazines!

What makes you happy today?

Garden Love

First, a bit of lunch
And then some garden leisure..
What are you doing this weekend?

the rulebook for my unborn daughter

This idea is brilliant! Wish I'd thought of that. It was inspired by this site.

My book of inspiration

I have a book full of inspiration. If I ever feel empty, like I don't want to get out of bed, I don't have anything to wear, despite the fact that my wardrobe is close to breaking, I feel ugly and sad and the world doesn't like me, I always, always feel better when looking through this.. I've collected photos that make me warm and fuzzy inside, that remind me of love, and of smiles, and of better days. Superficial? No, absolutely not.

'If we all went back to another time, I would love you over'

Oh, Paris, how I miss you

Paris. Cafés with round tables. Boutiques. Bright colours. Coffee. Macaroons. Montmartre. Carousels. Antique markets. Old tin boxes. Ice cream. Baguettes and cheese in a park. Champagne. Sitting by the Seine. Watching people kissing. Getting drunk on nice wine in a restaurant with rude waiters. Créme brulée. Balcony. Paris rain.

Shoes

These shoes are twins, they live in my bedroom, and they both spend a lot of time following me on my adventures around London. They like parties, pretty dresses and dancing. In equal amounts.
These shoes always make me smile whenever I wear them. I even take them out some days just to look at them, without wearing them. They have also been on many of my adventures, but they prefer just sitting in a nice café observing the lives of strangers.

Pretty Tuesday

These days I am listening to these guys a lot. I love it! It's a good soundtrack for spring, I think. Lately I've been sitting in the garden collecting freckles, had a party with lovely friends and we drank wine and champagne and laughed and smiled and then I fell over in bed. Today I am eating the rest of the brownies with a cup of nice coffee, and I'm smiling even though I'm sitting here trying to work out my research and scratching my head a lot.... What music are you listening to? I really want to know!

Perfect morning

Waking up to coffee in bed.. He opens the curtains and it's sunny outside, and we can hear nothing but the birds singing through the open window. Oh joy....

The best man.

I am so lucky! I am engaged to a lovely man, who is so thoughtful, warm and loving. He always makes a little heart in my cappuccino (I still haven't figured out how he does it!). He wakes me up with a kiss every morning. He always compliments me when I wear pretty dresses. He always whispers sweet things in my ear. For my birthday recently he got me two bottles of champagne (which we then drank and got quite drunk), a book with the letters of Heloise and Abelard- one of history's greatest love stories. And finally, the best present arrived today on our door, the prettiest bag I have ever had, specially made for me and with my initials on it!

Spring!

It's so lovely when you can sit outside and have your tea underneath the blooming cherry tree... The sun is warm, and the day is long, and the violets are so pretty.

A reminder

"Att det ska vara så svårt. Att man trots en kropp som kan springa, cykla, sjunga, älska - att man trots detta underverk ofta blir dess värsta fiende. Kroppen skal inspekteras och kritiseras. Den ska genomsökas på valkar och celluliter. Vilket slöseri på skönhet det är att oräkneliga kvinnor varje dag vaknar upp i ett fängelse av självkritik. Kvinnor som inte fatter hur vackra de är, utan bara ser fel i spegeln."
