Tomato update

The tomatoes have now moved outside, and I'm looking after them with great care and anticipation of future lovely tasting home- grown tomatoes. I think we'll have to take them with us when we go to Scotland, I fear they might die being left on their own in the garden. We have a little greenhouse in which we grow, apart from the tomatoes, herbs, different types of salad, chili and peppers. The broccoli is still going strong too. It's so much fun to grow things to eat!

  3. Your tomatoes now resemble mine. Mine have thankfully stopped growing and have settled at a reasonable height and are now growing flowers - I'm hoping fruit will be the next growth. Sadly my basil has moved on but I hear it comes back as soon as it gets warm again (I fear the stupidly cold nights killed it off). The rocket is strong as ever and I am still waiting for the chilli plant to produce something other than leaves. Currently in the mini greenhouse I have mint, strawberries and celery - still waiting for growth but only planted them a week ago and the weather has not been condusive to tempting them above the soil. But I couldn't agree more that growing things is fun. xxx

  4. That sounds pretty good! Our plants haven't started on the flowers yet, I'm hoping they'll grow a little bit more first. Our mixed salad and rocket are growing strong, and so are the basil, coriander and oregano, and the mint is making an attempt to take over the entire garden! The strawberry plant has produced two berries this year, and there's no sign of more to come.. The chili plant is growing very, very slowly, so not sure if it's going to turn out to be anything at all.

  5. Our chilli plant grew quite quickly but now seems to staying put at its current size and not doing anything. It's odd because I'd heard that chilli plants generally take over once they get going a little but mine is stubbornly staying put. The basil looks so sad now, lots of little brown stalks. Have been debating coriander for my curries but they tend to favour ground seeds over shredded leaves. xxx
